A multi-sensory tribute to the Edmund Fitzgerald, the great lakes freighter that inspired Gordon Lightfoot’s most famous musical tribute, the “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”.
Tom Asklar, local artist and Edmund Fitzgerald enthusiast, will host a Tribute to the Edmund Fitzgerald, an American Great Lakes freighter that sank during a storm on Lake Superior with the loss of the entire crew.
The evening begins with a multi-media presentation covering the ship’s history, timeline of the tragedy, and theories of it’s destruction. A tolling of the bell will honor the souls of the crew.
The evening will be filled with music, including Gordon Lightfoot’s famous tribute The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
