FDR re-enacts historical speeches and the events after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
At the History Center of Niagara, Albert McFadyen, a talented longtime actor, will be performing as American President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to commemorate the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, and the treacherous battles of World War 2. This event will include brand new material on some perilous wartime incidents, not mentioned in previous performances. Whether you’re just out to have a historical experience, or enjoy learning about the nitty-gritty of America’s wartime history, this event is sure to be an eye-opening, engaging experience.
In 2009, Mr. McFadyen was contacted by Ken Burns, a prominent American filmmaker, and asked him to complete a voice over for the documentary, Our National Parks: America’s Best Idea. Somehow, they had lost the important audio needed for the film, and Mr. McFadyen was the just the right man for the job. He has performed at the Lancaster Opera House as FDR in the Broadway musical, Annie—which was quite successful during its reign, and has reappraised the role at various other theaters and locations throughout the years.
Mr. McFadyen’s interpretation of such a historical event is both emotional and timeless, and his embodiment of FDR is absolutely sensational. This event is free open to the public. Donations are appreciated.
